Which Bethesda castle is the most extravagant?

Cast your vote

Imagine you have millions of dollars to spend on a place and you've narrowed it down to two Bethesda castles from the nineteenth century. How do you make up your mind? The answer is simple: you shove them into a metaphorical cage and let them battle it out until one emerges victorious. It's time for Real Estate Deathmatch.

↑ At 5446 Mohican Road, this five-bedroom, six-bedroom castle-looking home is on the market for $2.3 million. It first landed on the market in August 8 and has maintained the same asking price ever since. Some of the major highlights include a rooftop terrace, country kitchen, and elevator. The property also includes a two-story guest house, two-story playhouse, and fenced yard.

↑ Just down the street from the above listing, homebuyers will find this castle of a home with the same number of bedrooms and bathrooms at 5415 Mohican Road. Despite the close location and relatively similar offerings, this residence is asking more than $1 million over the previous listing’s ask with a $3.999 million price tag. It’s been on the market for a week now with roughly half an acre of land and views of the Potomac River. According to the listing, "no expense was spared in restoration." The residence now boasts top-of-the-line fixtures, an elevator on all four levels, and a lower level in-law suite with a kitchen.
