This Tuesday, demolition began on portions of the Ballston Common Mall. ARLNow reported that the demolition began on the corner of Wilson Boulevard and N. Randolph Street with plans to make way for Ballston Quarter, developed by mall owner Forest City.
Once the renovations are complete, the project will feature an open-air plaza running through the middle of the property. The mall will also offer a residential tower with over 380 apartments, 365,000 square feet of retail along with a Macy’s, and streetscape improvements. The entirety of the building will be renovated with sections of the roof removed, new windows and balconies installed, and several spaces, such as the food court, reoriented.
