In Chevy Chase, there are plans to redevelop five three-story apartment buildings into two apartment buildings with up to 125 residential units, as reported by Bethesda Magazine.
The owner of the development, Landmark Realty, recently filed plans with the Montgomery County Planning Department to gain approval for the project. If approved, the two apartment buildings will span 50 feet high, both with one level of below-grade parking.
The current development on the site, known as Newdale Mews Apartments, houses a total of 41 apartments. The planned development is called The Crescent at Chevy Chase.
In order to avoid overshadowing nearby single-family homes, Landmark Realty proposed building a "significant landscaped buffer," reported Bethesda Magazine.
