Shipping container condos planned for Shaw by Travis Price

Expect them to deliver by 2017

Approximately two years ago, Washington, D.C. got its first homes constructed out of shipping containers. The architect behind the project, Travis Price, has continued to construct the perhaps overused material into homes since then with condos originally set for Rosedale (and later rejected) and now condos planned for Shaw.

UrbanTurf was the first to report that Price and developer Rob Carter plan on constructing a four-unit condo development at 1512 6th Street NW, consisting of 12 shipping containers. Each residential unit is expected to have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a front-facing balcony. According to UrbanTurf, the top-level unit will also have a private roof deck.

The project is expected to deliver in December 2017.
