Alexandria’s Robinson Terminal North project on hold

The project may end up being completely overhauled

All demolition and construction work at Old Town Alexandria’s Robinson Terminal North redevelopment is on hold, as reported by Washington Business Journal. There is also a possibility that the entire project will be overhauled due to high construction costs and limited favoritism on the design proposed.

The project, headed by CityInterests Inc. and Rooney Properties, was first submitted in May 2014. According to Washington Business Journal, the developers were told to "abandon" the first designs due to them being "frenetically and distractingly random." Revisions by Hickok Cole Architects were later revealed in February 2015. In October 2015, the Alexandria City Council approved the development.

EYA’s Robinson Terminal South is still expected to continue without a hitch.
