The New York-based contractor behind the Yankee Stadium will be the one to construct Major League Soccer’s upcoming D.C. United Stadium.
Washington Business Journal reported that D.C. United awarded Turner Construction Co. a $150 million contract with the goal to open by the 2018 season.
Construction is expected to begin later this year.
The 19,000-seat soccer stadium is estimated to cost around $290 million, making it the most expensive Major League Soccer stadium ever constructed. Washington, D.C. will spend a total of $150 million on the project.
