This Church-Turned-Condo in Columbia Heights Wants $1.25M

Stainless steel appliances, rooftop decks, and private gardens

A little under two years ago, this Columbia Heights church was converted into 24 condos by OPaL. Now, one of its most expensive units is on the market for $1.25 million with $272 monthly HOA dues.

The structure formerly housed the Iglesia Ni Christo Church and the Carolina Missionary Baptist Church. Now, it features private gardens, rooftop decks, and off-street parking. Inside, there are stainless steel appliances and high-end fixtures.

Another condo in the building, Unit C, has been on the market since June 16 for $795,000. According to the listing, this is the most affordable home in the church. The unit also offers two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms across 1,000 square feet of space. The monthly HOA dues total $180.

If interested in living closer to Downtown, there is another church-converted-home on the market. Located in Georgetown, this condo comes with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. It is located in what was once the Alexander Memorial Baptist Church rectory, constructed in c. 1909. For this listing, the price is $2.495 million with $447 monthly HOA dues.
