New Kalorama Apartment Building to Be Pricey, with Great Views

Expect ‘awe-inspiring’ views

By the end of June, one of Washington, D.C.’s most expensive apartment buildings, The Hepburn, will open. The Kalorama development, located at 1901 Connecticut Avenue NW, will feature 195 apartments spread over 12 stories.

Studios will be priced around $2,400/month, while one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms will start at $2,900/month and $4,500/month, respectively. When it comes to the three-bedroom units, these rentals will start at $13,500/month.

To compare these prices with what you might typically find, Apartment List reported that the median rent for a one-bedroom is $2,200/month, and for a two-bedroom, it’s a median $3,080/month.

The Hepburn will also include amenities like a wine lounge, wine lockers, and a rooftop deck with a pool. There is also a fitness center and a front lobby. The views from the top of the building are, according to the Washington Business Journal, "awe-inspiring." For those interested in taking advantage of the rooftop deck, The Hepburn spent $32,000 just on Naval vessel binoculars that can be used from there.
