Plans are in store to create a 1.28 million-square-foot mixed-use development surrounding the upcoming Prince George's County casino, MGM National Harbor. According to Bisnow, the Fairfax-based developer Peterson Companies proposed 22,000 square feet of retail, over 700 apartments, a 500-key hotel, and timeshare rentals. There are also plans for a 16-story mixed-use building adjacent to MGM National Harbor and a 22,000-square-foot "entertainment-related space."
Work is not expected to begin until after the completion of the MGM National Harbor casino, which will either be late 2016 or early 2017.
