Award-Winning Glass Modern House Asks $1.8M in Bethesda

Classy and glassy at the same time

In Bethesda, Maryland, David Jameson's Dahlonega Residence is an example of how the unexpected can actually be pretty stunning.

In the four-bedroom home, the space is airy and bright. Throughout, there are high ceilings, lots of glass, and wood accents. With the oh-so-tall windows and the natural materials used in the construction, the listing is — as the David Jameson Architect, Inc. website describes it — a "portal to the landscape."

The floating staircase that leads up the property's three stories complements the modernity and uncluttered spaciousness of the home. In the kitchen, there are stainless steel appliances, an island, and a myriad of cabinets.

On the second-story Ipe deck, there is a large glass cube that looks into the below living room, further connecting the spaces.

Some of the awards the Dahlonega Residence has collected over the years include the 2013 AIA Award of Excellence from the Northern Virginia AIA Chapter, the 2013 Washingtonian Residential Design Award from the Washington, D.C. AIA Chapter, and the 2015 American Architecture Award.
