Expect it complete some time around April 16

Abstraction, repetition, and ornamentation are all elements of Erin Curtis' work, and soon it will be a defining characteristic of the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Washington, D.C.-based artist is currently in the process of painting a mural on the aluminum loading dock door on the Union Street side of the art center. The mural, titled "Beaded Curtain," is expected to near completion by Friday, April 16.

Previous works of Curtis include recycling truck wraps for the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the embellished traffic control boxes for the Public Art Commission for the Alexandria. Her works have been showcased in Big Medium Gallery in Austin, Texas and at Flashpoint Gallery in Washington, D.C.
