Here is the Best Time to Sell Your House in D.C.

D.C. residents should put their homes on the market earlier in the year than sellers in other cities

Nationally, the best time to sell a home is between May 1 and May 15, according to a new analysis from Zillow. During this time frame, listings sell an average of 18.5 days faster and 1 percent higher.

For Washington, D.C., though, you're going to need to put your listing on the market one month earlier for the best results. In D.C. proper, put your house on the market between April 16 to 30. Zillow reported that this earlier date is due to distinct climate changes in the area. If sellers follow Zillow's advice, their listing will most likely sell 18 days faster and 1.1 percent higher.
