462-Unit Mixed-Use Project Planned for Buzzard Point

Expect over 450 units and a whole lot of retail

Once again, Buzzard Point is in the news with plans for another development. As the second mixed-use project planned, this one will be a 90-foot-high, 481,235-square-foot development and will be located adjacent to the Anacostia River.

According to Zoning documents, the project will house 24,032 square feet of retail, 324 parking spaces across two-and-a-half levels, and 404,608 square feet of residential. There will be a total of 462 units with studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms.

Currently, the site at 1900 Half Street SW houses a vacant nine-story office building. The developer plans on renovating the property and also removing significant portions of it in order to create two large open courts.

There are no reports yet on when construction will begin or when it will deliver. The first expected mixed-use project at Buzzard Point is expected to complete by 2018.
