What Are the Most Gorgeous Churches in Washington, D.C.?

New, 3 comments

What are some other choices besides the National Cathedral and the Basilica?

Welcome to Friday Open Threads, wherein we'll pass the mic to readers to speak up about topics of interest, distress, horror, etc. Have something you want discussed? Let us know.

Oh, National Cathedral, how loved you are with your grace and your little Darth Vader head. But there are other churches in Washington, D.C. that deserve just as much awe if not more. For one, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is immense, being the largest Catholic church in the U.S. and North America. Besides these two behemoths, what other churches should D.C. residents and tourists journey to? Let us know in the comments.

While you're pondering on the best and brightest holy homes, be sure to also chime into the last Friday Open Thread where Curbed asked readers where the most beautiful libraries in D.C. are.

If there is a question you would like shared with readers, let Curbed know by either leaving a comment or emailing dc@curbed.com, and it will be considered for the next Friday Open Thread.
