We all know that gray is all the rage, but is orange the next color of choice for renovated houses? For this Bethesda listing, orange seems to suit it well along with high-end finishes, an ornate fireplace and open staircase, and sporadic pops of colors thanks to accent walls. The listing is located on roughly one acre of land, on a lot that slopes up from the street before leveling out, according to the abode's former listing in 2010.
This listing first landed on the market this past Friday for $1,499,800. A day later, the price changed to the current $1.58 million. Despite the high price, a multi-million dollar ask isn't too unusual for the area. According to national real estate brokerage Redfin, the median listing price for Bethesda is $1.05 million. The price upper may have been a little early, though, as more often than not Bethesda listings sell for less than they ask. The median sale price is $800,000, according to Redfin. This single-family home found its last buyer in January 2010, who paid $900,000 for the abode.
If not interested in this particular single-family home, but one like it, the listing also offers plans for an 11,000-square-foot abode with a pool by ARCON. "You choose," writes the listing. "The sky's the limit!"
