2017 is almost here, and that means a lot of things to a lot of developers.
One major development expected to partially complete is the $2 billion Waterfront project, The Wharf. The first residential building in the development is expected to deliver by the fall.
The Wharf is one of the largest developments on the East Coast with 24 acres of construction and 3 million square feet of retail, residential, office, and hotel space. A total of 12 different architects have designed the project.
Meanwhile, in Adams Morgan, The LINE hotel is expected to debut in 2017 with two restaurants, a coffee shop, and an event space. Amenities will also include an indoor pool and sauna. The 220-room project is located in what was previously the First Church of Christ, constructed in 1912.
There’s also the annual summer installation in the National Building Museum to look forward to. Next year, the architects to create the installation is Studio Gang, an architecture and urbanism practice based in Chicago and New York.
Former works completed by Studio Gang include the Nature Boardwalk at the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Aqua Tower in Chicago.
