White House fence final design approved
Since the summer of 2015, the Secret Service has been trying to stop visitors from attempting to jump the perimeter fence around the White House. In May 2015, the Secret Service installed temporary "anti-climb measures," known as "pencil points."

White House perimeter fence preliminary drawings unanimously approved by NCPC
The Secret Service is moving forward with their plans for a new, higher perimeter fence for the White House. This Thursday, the National Capital Planning Commission voted in approval of the preliminary site and development plans.

White House fence plans to be reviewed by NCPC on Thursday
After multiple instances of people jumping the White House fence, the Secret Service has been evaluating what the best plans might be to make the area more secure. Proposed ideas have included a moat, an electrified fence, and sharp fence clip-ons.

New White House fence options unveiled
This Thursday, the National Capital Planning Commission will review concept plans for a new perimeter fence and gates at the White House. The concept plans were submitted by the National Park Service in coordination with the U.S. Secret Service.

White House Fence May Be Raised to 11 Feet High
In order to avoid future instances of fence-jumpers, the U.S. Secret Service plans on raising the height of the security fence around the White House by five feet. To do so, the plans must be approved by the National Capital Planning Commission.
