For the first time for Washington, D.C., an office building is being built on a pier. This development, known as Pier 4, is part of the $2 billion, mixed-use development, The Wharf, located in the Southwest Waterfront.

The 28,000-square-foot Class-A office building is expected to deliver in October 2017, extending 260 feet into the Potomac River. Some of the amenities will include private covered outdoor terraces, a bicycle storage room, and lobby with a double-height entry and natural wood feature wall. The building is designed to achieve LEED Gold Core and Shell certification.

Already, the first floor is fully leased, but the upper two floors are available with 10,000 square feet and a private 900-square-foot covered terrace on the second floor, and 6,500 square feet and a 3,000-square-foot private outdoor terrace on the third floor.
