Park View may get a new 10-unit apartment building

No parking is expected to be built

At 2812-2814 Georgia Avenue NW, there are currently two connected single-family homes on two separate lots, but soon there may be a brand new 10-unit apartment building. Recently, a developer filed an application with the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) to raze the existing buildings, combine the two lots, and construct a four-story residential development with a penthouse space.

Some of the residential units will have patios, balconies, or decks. One of the residential units will be designated for affordable housing.

In the BZA application, the developer asks for a special exception relief to not have to provide the two required parking spaces for the project. The developer argues against providing parking due to the site’s proximity to a bus stop, Metro station, and Capital BikeShare station and due to the site’s lack of an alley access.
