With the motivation to create a nationally sought after destination, the Hyatt Regency Bethesda hotel is undergoing a $37 million renovation.
The renovation will fully makeover the 390 rooms in the hotel as well as transform the lobby and mezzanine with additional retail outlets. Once the renovation is completed, each of the rooms will feature streaming video capabilities for up to six devices, 55-inch flat screen TVs, separate work spaces, new showers, and marble sinks. Also expect new wall coverings, lighting, and custom-designed furniture and plush bedding.
For the lobby, there will be a variety of communal spaces, which will include the “Make Space,” a work and play area with computers, wireless printing, and power outlets.
The renovation is also expected to refresh the exterior, enhance the meeting and event spaces with modern technology, and create a new rooftop venue. The rooftop venue will span 2,400 square feet with an indoor ballroom that will be able to accommodate up to 200 guests.
The renovation is expected to complete by early 2017.
