This Friday, the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) announced the development team for Anacostia’s MLK Gateway, located at 1201-1215 Good Hope Road SE and 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.

Plans for Anacostia’s MLK Gateway, revealed
There are two finalists for the Request for Proposals for Anacostia’s MLK Gateway, which was introduced during the DMPED March Madness event. This "Gateway" is located at Good Hope Road SE and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.

Two finalists chosen to redevelop Anacostia’s Martin Luther King Gateway
Two sites in Anacostia, at Good Hope Road SE Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, are expected to be redeveloped with commercial and mixed-use developments. The DMPED released the names of which development teams responded to the Request for Proposals.

RFP deadline for MLK Gateway extended
In Anacostia, developers have the opportunity to redevelop two sites on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE and Good Hope Road SE for small to medium scaled commercial and mixed-use developments. Just recently, the deadline was extended to October 17.

There is already a lot to see and do in Anacostia, from the Frederick Douglass house to the Anacostia Community Museum. In the next few years, there will be even more retail and restaurant options as well as Washington, D.C.'s first bridge park.

The D.C. government released a Request for Proposals (RFP) from developers who may redevelop the vacant parcel at 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE and the vacant lot and storefronts at 1201-1215 Good Hope Road SE.

Over 15 New Projects Unveiled for March Madness
From libraries to pools, 17 new projects were unveiled to local investors and businesses this past week with locations all across Washington, D.C. The unveiling was part of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) March Madness.
