From the top of a crane at the Hine redevelopment project in Capitol Hill, Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen recorded his soaring views of the District. From the 11th Street Bridge to NoMa to the Washington Monument all the way back to Eastern Market, Allen shared his viewpoint in a three-minute video.
The Hine School project is the redeveloping of the Hine Junior High School into an LEED-designed mixed-use development with 158 residential units, 150,000 square feet of office space, boutiques, and restaurants. 46 of the units will be designated for affordable housing. There will also be a landscaped plaza, a space for a flea market, and underground parking. The project is headed by developers EastBanc and Stanton. First move-ins are slated for 2017.
