‘Absurd’ Arlington mansion may become a bed and breakfast

With no buyers to be found, the owner of this home is looking for other options

In 2005, The Washington Post reported about a planned single-family home in Arlington, Virginia that neighbors described as "absurd." The 12,500-square-foot residence at 3120 N. Pershing Drive called for a basement ballroom, indoor pool, library, and a "prayer room."

Recently, the owner of the home, Yogi Dumera, the restaurateur behind Delhi Dhaba and Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill, tried to sell the property by lowering the asking price from the original $3,995,900 in June 2014 to $1,999,999 in September 2016. Without an interested buyer, the home is now off the market, and Dumera is planning on converting the property into a bed and breakfast, as reported by ARLnow.

This Saturday, Dumera will present his plans to the Arlington County Board. On November 9, he will also present his plans to the Lyon Park Civic Association.
