It's official. Mount Pleasant is the neighborhood to focus on this year. What makes a neighborhood hot anyway? According to national real estate brokerage Redfin, it all depends on the predictions of real estate agents and which neighborhood has gotten the most page views and favorites from homebuyers. Two recent trends that determine popularity also include affordability and "character," which is basically anything not a cookie cutter home. Below Mount Pleasant, 16th Street Heights and the Woodridge/Fort Lincoln areas were also listed as the second and third hottest neighborhoods, respectively. Last year, Woodridge was also named the hottest neighborhood of 2015.
