Buzzard Point Marina Will Close After a Half-Century of Use

New, 1 comment

After a half-century of use, the Buzzard Point Marina will close on December 31. The reasoning for closing down the marina was that it would be too expensive to improve it to keep it safe and modern. The Washington Post reported that this will cause 58 boat owners to be displaced. The National Park Service (NPS) will conduct a study to see what other recreational opportunities there are for the marina. After this December, the NPS will remove the docks, upgrade the boat ramp, and maintain the park.
