820-Acre MD Estate That Hosted Grace Kelly Up for Auction

Since the early 1930s, this 820-acre Grasonville, Maryland estate, known as the Talisman Plantation, has hosted famed and fortunate guests in connection to Madison Avenue advertising icon Arthur H. Kudner Sr.and his family. These guests have included those in politics, professional sports, movies, and most notably Grace Kelly. The 16,181-square-foot single-family home has been on the market for over 1,200 days and was recently listed at $10.9 million, but it will soon be up for auction with no minimum bid required. Premiere Estates Auction Co. will host the sealed-bid auction for the property on October 1. The Washington Post reported that all bidders must register and submit a $150,000 deposit to participate. The listing includes eight bedrooms and six bathrooms, but the most noteworthy features are its surroundings. Nearby, there are private sandy beaches along the Chesapeake and four miles of waterfront along Prospect Bay. On 600 acres of the property, there is a permanently protected wildlife haven for osprey, wild turkeys, herons, and white-tailed deer, according to The Washington Post. Roughly 200 acres of the property can be developed. The property was last sold in March 2010 for $7.75 million.
