Last Friday around 7 p.m., an unnamed woman was arrested after jumping over a barricade described as a "bike rack" on Pennsylvania Avenue NW. While the woman was not able to make it onto the White House grounds, the White House was put on lockdown for about an hour. The individual was charged with unlawful entry. On July 1, the U.S. Secret Service installed metal spikes on top of the White House fence for extra security. Other ideas considered have included an electrified fence, a solid wall, and a moat.
