Maryland Mall Resembles Apocalyptic Scene in Drone Video

New, 2 comments

With escalators torn to shreds, pipes hanging limp like dead branches, and dirt and grime layering over the entire premises, Montgomery County's White Flint Mall resembles something out of an apocalyptic scene. On his Youtube account, Mike Purks posted the above video, captured from a drone before the development's eventual demolition. The razing of the 800,000-square-foot mall began earlier this month with plans for a town center with more than two million-square-feet of retail and office space, a hotel, and more than 2,400 apartments, as reported by Bethesda Magazine. There are also plans to construct an estimated 13 acres of public open space.
