For the first time in Washington, D.C.'s southeast quadrant, a developer will construct a cinema complex at The Yards. Forest City Washington, master developer of The Yards, announced plans for a luxury, 16-screen movie theater on Thursday that will be located at the site currently used by DC Water on N Place SE, only one block away from Nationals Park. The 66,400-square-foot development will house approximately 1,500 seats and will feature wall-to-wall screens, premium sound, deluxe leather recliner seats, and reserved seating. According to a press release, the facility will also come with exclusive VIP levels with adults-only access and tables to enjoy food and beverage inside of the auditoriums. On food options, expect a full bar with appetizers, small plates, snacks, and desserts. The facility will feature an integrated parking garage with 320 spaces. Construction is slated to begin in early 2016 with a delivery by early 2018.
