The Zoning Commission gave final approval for the construction of The Highline at Union Market, a mixed-use development inspired by New York's meatpacking district and elevated park known as the High Line. With delivery expected by late 2018, this development will feature 315 apartments, 10,000-square-feet of retail, and 143 parking spaces, as reported by Urban Turf. With a $1.4 million contribution to Habitat for Humanity, 13 of the residential units will be designated for households making up to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI) and will be located off-site. According to Urban Turf, if the 13 units aren't completed before the planned unit development is awarded, five of the affordable units will be moved on-site and reserved for those earning up to 50 percent AMI. Level 2 Development is also planning on constructing a multi-tiered park on the western portion of the site. The location of the project, 320 Florida Avenue NE, is currently host to a Burger King.
