Formerly Bleak, Now Fantastical Crestwood Castle Asks $1.4M

New, 2 comments

What better way to feel like royalty than to live in a castle? While Washington, D.C. may not typically be known for such fantastical architecture, this Crestwood castle has been on the market since April 2014. It originally asked for $2.2 million, but experienced a $400,000 price chop only two months later. It last sold in November 2014. Now, it's on the market for $1,399,900. What may have caused the major pricechop may have been the rather overexposed photos, the beat up floors, and the stains on the hallway ceiling. It looks like the sellers have finally hired a professional photographer, though, and the castle looks like it's in tip-top shape. Built in 1926, the seven-bedroom, five-bathroom listing comes with wood-paneled rooms, built-in bookshelves, and multiple fireplaces with ornate mantles. It's located right off of Rock Creek Park and was once of interest to singer Miriam Makeba and black power advocate Stokely Carmichael. If interested in taking a peek inside the castle, check out the photo gallery below.
