This Monday, construction will begin on Herndon, Virginia's Innovation Center South, a 1.6 million-square-foot development that will cover 14.68 acres. The seven-building development will feature 104,000-square-feet of retail, 501,000-square-feet of office, 1,005 apartments, and a 190-room hotel, as reported by WTOP. The mixed-use development will be located next to the Innovation Center Metro station and a 2,100-space parking garage. Fairfax County will share the cost for the common infrastructure of the site, which involves the construction of a pocket park and one-acre landscaped plaza. According to WTOP, the entirety of the Silver Line is expected to finish by 2019 with stops at Reston Town Center, Herndon, Innovation Center, Dulles International Airport, and Ashburn.
