Sommelier in Residence: Bethesda's New Over-the-Top Amenity

While a $10.5 million condo was once the most absurd aspect of this Bethesda residential development, news has broken on what may be the area's newest, most totally ridiculous, and totally lavish amenity: a Sommelier in Residence. According to Eater DC, the duties for The Lauren Residences' Sommelier in Residence will entail providing customized consultations and hosting quarterly tastings and workshops in the development's 1,500-square-foot wine lounge. Master Sommelier Jarad Slipp will be the man to take up the job once the development completes construction by the spring of 2016. Slipp was formerly a sommelier at CityZen restaurant, but is now affiliated with RdV Vineyards in Delaplane, VA. The Lauren Residences doesn't stop there, though, when it comes to oenophile-inspired amenities. Residents will also have a private wine locker and a year-long membership to the Ambassadors Program at RdV Vineyards. The Lauren Residences will have a total of 29 luxury condos with floor plans ranging from 1,444-square-feet to 6,000-square-feet.
