Iwo Jima Memorial Restoration

With a $5.37 million donation made to the National Park Foundation, the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington will be restored thanks to David Rubenstein, the co-founder of The Carlyle Group LP. According to the Washington Business Journal, the funds will go toward lighting, landscaping, and also waxing the sculpture. Additionally, the engravings on the sculpture's base will be re-gilded.
