Newly released renderings reveal a developer's plans for the first of three redevelopment phases for the Pentagon Centre mall. For the 16.8-acre site, there are plans to build a 10-story residential building with ground-floor retail at the corner of S. Hayes Street and 15th Street and a 25-story apartment tower at the corner of 12th Street S. and S. Hayes Street. ARLNow reported that the two residential buildings will add a total 703 residential units to the area. A seven-story parking garage with 394 spots will also be built next to a new S. Grant Street. The second and third phases aren't planned to begin for another 20 or 40 years after Phase I is complete. If Phase II and III are approved, the main mall building and Costco will be demolished. In their place, three office buildings, a hotel, and a park will be constructed along S. Fern Street. No renderings for Phase II and II have been developed yet.
