Capitol Hill School to Be Converted into Residential Units

The historic Buchanan School at the corner of 13th and D streets SE is now under contract by developer Insight Property Group. According to Capitol Hill Corner, the developer plans on converting the 92,899-square-foot building into residential units. Townhouses will be built to front 13th and D streets SE. Because the building was built in 1895, the developer hopes to preserve and enhance the historic structures. Once the purchase on the property is made, construction is expected to begin the first quarter of 2016 with a delivery date in 2017. A community meeting on the development will be hosted April 21 at 7 p.m. at Hill Center.
