While the population of D.C. proper has grown in the past year by 1.5 percent, the region's population has declined with most leaving for other parts of the nation. According to Washington City Paper, if fewer and fewer people live in the region, that could mean that there aren't as many better jobs available and it could mean an end to budget surpluses. [WCP]
