Who needs history when you can have six pack abs? Plans are in the works to convert a more than 75-year-old post office in Bethesda, Maryland into a fitness center. The historic building on 7400 Wisconsin Avenue closed in 2012 due to a nationwide campaign by USPS to save money. Besides financial troubles, the post office did not have enough parking for its customers. The building was sold for $4 million in 2012 and is planned to open as Bridges Fitness & Yoga in September 2015. The fitness center is described as a "state-of-the-art facility" for yoga, cardio, and strength training with amenities that include a "health-minded cafe," "relaxation area," and massage treatments.
