Here now, the top five most popular Washington, D.C. listings of the last week, based on pageview data from national real estate brokerage Redfin. Redfin real estate agent Dan Galloway gave insight on why these homes were so popular this week.
↑ 5) 1734 Upshur St NW, Crestwood
Starting off our list is this four-bedroom, three-bathroom townhome with an asking price of $869,000. Some of its highlights include a huge backyard and two-car garage. According to Redfin real estate agent Dan Galloway, what may also make this home so popular to homebuyers is its quick access to downtown Washington and Silver Spring.
↑ 4) 1301 Maryland Ave NE, Capitol Hill
This Capitol Hill townhome features a front and side porch, garage parking, and original woodwork. With an asking price of $599,000, the listing includes six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a lower level apartment. If interested, Galloway said, "Buyers should be aware that actually being able to tour this property has been a challenge." If you're one of the lucky ones to tour it, focus on what kind of shape the stucco is in and how usable the lower level apartment would be.
↑ 3) 1009 N Livingston St, Arlington
This home is "a mixed blessing for Northern Virginians," according to Galloway, due to its easy access to the Metro, Interstate 66, and amenities in Seven Corners, Ballston, and Falls Church. The home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sun room, and an expansive yard. Built in 1946, the home has a remodeled kitchen and bath along with replacement windows. The asking price is $719,900.
↑ 2) 1324 S St NW, A, Old City #2
With an asking price of $560,000, this two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom condo was one of the most popular homes on the market last week. While the listing's photos may not be too pretty, it still caught the attention of the public due to its proximity to 14th and U streets. Homebuyers will have to be wary of the low ceilings on the lower level of the home. Even if you're not afraid of a little home improvement, Galloway said, "Remedying that is a major undertaking."
↑ 1) 64 W St NW, Bloomingdale
It was no surprise to Galloway that this home landed as the most popular home on Redfin. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a typical home this size in Bloomingdale would price somewhere between $750,000 and $900,000. The asking price for this home, though, is $450,000. "Even though it needs a complete remodel, it offers great opportunity for someone willing to get their hands dirty — really, really dirty," Galloway said. The listing is being sold as-is, so if you're not interested in cleaning the previous homeowner's trash and starting the home anew, you'll have to move along. · Redfin [Official Website]
