Navy Yard's Dock 79 Tops Off, First Phase Complete

On Friday, Washington, D.C.-based developer MRP Realty announced that the first phase of their four-phase master development, Dock 79, topped off. This first phase entailed construction on a 281,050-square-foot, 9-story mixed-use development immediately south of the Washington Nationals stadium in Navy Yard. The development features 305 apartments, 15,266-square-feet of ground-floor retail space, and two levels of below-grade parking. Amenities will include a health club, business lounge, bike storage, and a rooftop swimming pool with a kitchen. The project first broke ground in the third quarter of 2014 and is set to deliver July 2016, according to the press release. Take a sneak peek at what the apartments will look like here.


The second phase will feature a 13-story, 255,885-square-foot development with 282 residential units and 5,630-square-feet of ground-floor retail. On the third phase, you should expect a 12-story, 313,705-square-foot commercial office building with 11,500-square-feet of ground-floor retail. The fourth and final phase will entail a 14-story, 261,760-square-foot development with 12,610-square-feet of ground-floor retail and either hotel, residential, or commercial office space.
