It's Just Another Mansion Monday (This Time in Berkley)

What would happen if music and real estate collided? That's what Curbed wants to find out with the strange, but wonderful column, Lyric Lowdown. Here, Curbed takes lyrics from famous songs and remixes them to houses on the market. Today's remix comes from The Bangles' "Manic Monday."

I was just in the middle of a dream, and then this Berkley beauty woke me up. Can't be late to work 'cause then I guess I just won't get paid (and then how could I afford this house?). These are the days when I wish my kitchen was as blue as the one in this abode. It's just another mansion Monday. I wish it was Sunday 'cause that's when I could see the listing up close at an open house. But I can't be late to work due to being so enamored by this single-family home. Even if I caught a Metro train that wasn't delayed, I still wouldn't be able to make it to work on time 'cause it takes me so long just to figure out if I'm going to use the office/den area as an office or a den. When I'm late to work, blame it on the outdoor pool and private flagstone patio. Of all the amenities, why did this listing have to choose a one-car garage to make me fall so hard in house love? Doesn't it matter that I can't afford a $1.395 million home? Regardless, my inner critic speaks to me in his (or her) bedroom voice, "C'mon, honey. Let's take out a mortgage." Time goes so fast when you're looking at gorgeous houses like this one.
