Despite Low Confidence, D.C. is 3rd Best Place to Own a Home

Buck up, homebuyers. Washington, D.C. is the third best place in the U.S. to own a home, at least according to a survey by Porch.com and national real estate brokerage Redfin. The nation's capital was deemed above average in walkability and economic opportunity and ranked lowest in real estate confidence. Despite ranking as the worst Metro area in the nation in terms of traffic congestion, the survey placed the District as number 13 for most satisfied commuters out of 47 total places. The survey analyzed factors like safety, climate, commute times, and real estate trends. According to The Washington Post, nearly 10,000 homeowners were surveyed to create the list.
