Union Market Warehouse to Become Hotel, Office, Apartments

There are plans in the works to convert a Capital Self-Storage warehouse near Union Market into a mixed-use development with apartments, retail, offices, and a boutique hotel. UrbanTurf reported that a parcel of land north of the alley between 3rd and 4th streets will be demolished along with the Granger building. Here are some of the specifics on what to expect from this project: 20,000-square-feet of retail on the first floor topped by two floors with either office or additional retail space, a tower along 3rd Street for a 150- to 175-room boutique hotel, and a tower along N Street for a 370-unit multi-family apartment building. The developer Foulger-Pratt Development will preserve the sawtooth monitors on the roof in order to have the warehouse recognized as a landmark. UrbanTurf further reported that the facade of the building will be rehabilitated.
