The Cleveland Park Library will be demolished in 2016 for a brand new building designed by Gilbane and Perkins Eastman. The design phase for the $18.6 million project began in spring 2015, resulting in nine submissions. The selected architect team was chosen by a panel comprised of Library staff and representatives of the Friends of the Cleveland Park Library, the Cleveland Park Citizens Association, the Woodley Park Community Association, and Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3C09. The new building for the Cleveland Park Library at 3310 Connecticut Avenue NW is expected to deliver by the fall of 2017. A temporary facility will house library services while the current Cleveland Park Library is closed.
