Peep Two Decked-Out D.C. Rentals DIY-ed by Local Creatives

Our pals at Apartment Therapy, the cool-yet-approachable home design/nesting site, seem sweet on the District lately. Two house tours of D.C. rentals have posted in the past week, and they're both chock full of regular-gal, budget-friendly charm. Today's local treat: The two-bed, one-bath Mount Pleasant abode of a creative roommate duo who have used saturated paint colors (emerald, seal gray) and flea market finds to transform a mid 20th-century space. We just hope they asked their landlord about all that Benjamin Moore brushwork. -Jenn Barger

Across town on Capitol Hill, a mini tour of freelance photographer Abby's 750-square-foot rented studio shows off a romantic roof deck strung with lights, subtle gallery-wall art and stairs where she painted the risers a beachy blue.
