Big changes are being floated for 1738 14th St NW. The owner of the building is hoping to build eight units and a larger commercial space in what was previously One World Fitness. The plan entails remodeling the building that fronts 14th Street and tearing down everything behind it and replacing it with four stories of studios and a sweet private courtyard.
The top two units on the back part of the development would have lofts and private roof terraces. Below that, the units, which all appear to be studios from the floor plans, would have either access to a second-floor courtyard or a balcony or both. As of May 2014 (a long time ago, we know), the developers were saying they had interest from a tenant that was "not a restaurant."
The DC Board of Zoning Adjustment is considering the proposal tomorrow.
