The Washington Monument may have its earthquake damage repaired, but the restoration to Union Station's Main Hall will be ongoing for another couple of years. Kudos to Union Station for finding a way to make the scaffolding under the gold leaf painted dome into a learning experience; there are several informative museum-like placards attached that give a brief history of the popular Beaux Arts train station. We thought we'd check in on the restoration process and snap a few photos. Check it out.
