These days, gas stations in downtown D.C. are as scarce as bipartisanship from lobbyists down on K Street. But back in 1922, when this image was taken (and when Model Ts were more common that Car2Gos), they must've been plentiful even in bustling business zones. In the midst of the Jazz Age, you could fuel up — though mileage and roads were terrible — on a patch that's now offices, a coffee shop and, sigh, very 2014 traffic jams.
