Bunny Mellon's Sprawling Virginia Estate Wants Insane $70M

New, 2 comments

Late heiress and philanthropist Rachel "Bunny" Mellon owned her fair share of impressive properties but this one in Upperville, VA might take the cake. Oak Springs Farm, which is a massive 2047 acre property has just hit the market at a whopping $70 million and if it goes under contract at anywhere near that asking price, it'd be record breaking x 1000 (roughly).

Mellon's personal residence is not included in the sale, but there are a lot of other interesting places on the property. For starters, there's a statue commemorating Kentucky Derby winner Sea Hero on the property, as well as stables since the Mellons bred racehorses. There's an impressive garden and greenhouse which makes sense as Mellon revamped the White House garden during the Kennedy years. Also, there's a 10,000 square foot mansion called the Brick House, a pool house designed by starchitect I.M. Pei and a runway for private planes. Have a look.
