Downtown Silver Spring has a few different memorable (dare we say, iconic) signs amongst its skyline but the most unique feature is undoubtably an inflatable shark that doesn't even emerge every year. Chompie the Shark is the plastic wonder that famously protruded from all sides of the Discovery Building in Downtown Silver Spring in 2006, 2010 and again in 2012 for the 25th anniversary of Shark Week. He's not been erected this year, but in honor of Shark Week, we've scoured the internet for photos of the toothy guy which we've compiled in a gallery right now. Enjoy.
